On Friday 17th April 2026, Youth Killed It turned The Adrian Flux Waterfront into a chaotic, sweat-soaked celebration of everything that makes a great live gig. While the band’s rise over the past few years has been impressive, this show was all about the present moment. A perfect warm- up for their upcoming UK headline tour. Loud, unpredictable, and completely electric from start to finish

Formed in 2016 in Norwich, Youth Killed It have carved out a unique path with their mix of indie rock, punk energy, and hip-hop influences. They’ve become one of Norwich’s most recognisable bands, with huge crowds turning up to their local shows.

Their line-up remains tight and focused with Jack Murphy on vocals, Danny de Ara Torres and Paul Gaul on guitars and Joel Mullin holding the beat with his drums. Their chemistry on stage is one of their greatest strengths, and nowhere was that more evident than on this night.

Support acts Atlas & I and Omega Bad warmed things up perfectly, bringing the energy and excitement in the room to it’s peak by the time Youth Killed It hit the stage. From the first note of “Are You Having A Good Time”, the room was bouncing, people singing , dancing and a sea of hands in the air.

The band launched straight into more high-energy songs such as “NPC”, “Lovely Day For It” and “Johnny Bravado”. Fast guitars, pounding drums, and frontman Jack Murphy commanding the room like he owned it. The crowd, already tightly packed, surged forward instantly, turning the venue floor into a bouncing mass of bodies within minutes.

The setlist leaned heavily into the band’s most energetic material, and it worked perfectly in a live setting. Tracks like “What’s So Great, Britain?”, “Shandy Murray” and “Up All Night” hit with real punch, with the biting lyrics delivered with a mix of attitude and humour that the crowd clearly loved. “AI Killer” and fan favourite “Molly” followed the set list with high energy and plenty of bodies moving.

The band’s stage presence was a huge part of what made the night work. Between songs, They delivered off-the-cuff banter that felt natural rather than rehearsed, joking with the audience, hyping up the hometown crowd, and occasionally stirring things up just enough to keep the energy high. There was a sense of intimacy and friendship within the whole room, everyone gathered to celebrate this bands success.

Instrumentally, the band were tight without feeling rigid. The dual guitars of Danny and Paul provided a heavy, driving sound, while Joel’s drumming kept everything locked in with relentless energy. The result was a set that felt controlled, always on the verge of chaos but perfectly held together.

The final stretch of the set was where everything peaked. New release “Touch Grass” sent the crowd into full frenzy mode with the noise level continuing to climb.
For the encore and the notes of “Popstar” rang out, a continuation of the chaos erupted. The closing song turned into a full-blown release with Omega Bad’s David Betts and Atlas&I’s Matt Snelling joining the band on stage. Fans shouting every word, the band feeding off that energy, and the whole room moving as one.

What stood out most about this show was how alive with pride, the room was. There was nothing overly slick or manufactured about it, just a local Norwich band and a supportive crowd completely in sync, creating something loud, and memorable together.

In the end, Youth Killed It didn’t just play a gig at the Waterfront, they took it over. If this show proved anything, it’s that Youth Killed It are no longer labelled “Ones To Watch”. They have arrived.
