It’s not often you get a 4 day music event that has so much variety and entertainment. The Rock N Roll Circus is one of those events that you can enjoy new bands, old music classics, chart toppers, all while spending time with the family and enjoying talented circus acts.
Earlham Park in Norwich was the home to this extravaganza and it did not disappoint. Starting on a Thursday through till the Sunday, some of the biggest names in indie and rock music, took to the stage to entertain the crowds. The likes of The Fratellis, The Kooks, Madness, The Streets and James, headlined the event along with big names such as Ocean Colour Scene, Babyshambles, Razorlight and The Vaccines.
There were so many good small acts to enjoy throughout the day too. Here are some of our favorites that we got to see during the four days.
The Clause
The Clause brought a burst of infectious indie energy to Rock N Roll Circus, lighting up the Earlham Park crowd with their upbeat lyrics, thrumming guitars and confident stage presence. Their set was packed with the kind of catchy, feel good songs that quickly had the sea of people in the big top tent moving, proving why they have become such an exciting name in the UK indie scene. A lively, energetic performance, The Clause left the crowd wanting more.
Tom A Smith
Tom A Smith brought a raw burst of youthful energy to the stage. His powerful, deep vocals, heavy guitars and his backing band with their infectious indie rock sound, quickly drew the crowd in, delivering a set full of attitude and momentum. With a confident stage presence and songs built for a festival crowd, Tom A Smith proved he is more than ready for the bigger stages, leaving a memorable impression on everyone that watched his set.
Millie Manders and The Shut Up
Millie Manders and The Shutup brought a huge dose of ska-punk energy to the Sunday. Taking to the Big Top first in the afternoon, the band wasted no time getting the crowd moving with infectious rhythms, powerful vocals and their unmistakable blend of punk, ska and pop. Millie’s commanding stage presence and passionate vocals made for a lively, uplifting performance that set the perfect tone for the rest of the day.
Grace Calver
Grace Calver sparkled in the sun with her charming burst of indie pop personality. Performing on Stage 2, on the Saturday afternoon, her storytelling songwriting, catchy melodies and confident delivery quickly won over the early festival crowd. With a style that blends playful lyrics with a distinctly British indie sound, Grace brought plenty of character to the stage. It was an upbeat, engaging performance that marked her as one to definitely watch.
The Molotovs
The Molotovs brought a raw burst of indie rock energy, tearing into their Stage 2 set with attitude, loud guitars and infectious enthusiasm. Their tight performance kept the crowd engaged, with a youthful swagger and energetic delivery that suited the festival atmosphere perfectly. There was a real sense of momentum throughout, as The Molotovs demonstrated why they are a band capable of making plenty of noise and leaving a lasting impression
Seb Lowe
Seb Lowe brought a powerful dose of raw, emotional, indie rock to the opening day of the Circus. Taking to the Big Top at 5pm, Seb delivered a passionate performance packed with energy, attitude and honest songwriting. His distinctive vocals and commanding presence quickly captured the attention of the growing festival crowd. With a sound that feels both urgent and authentic, Seb made a strong impression and set the tone for an exciting evening ahead.
Fletchr Fletchr
Fletchr Fletchr brought a fresh wave of indie rock energy on the Saturday. Their Stage 2 performance combined catchy melodies, upbeat guitars and a confident delivery that quickly drew the festival crowd in. With an effortless ability to blend infectious hooks with a raw, modern edge, they delivered an engaging set that felt perfectly suited to the buzzing festival atmosphere. It was another impressive step for a band clearly on the rise.
Cruz Beckham and The Breakers
Cruz Beckham and The Breakers brought a confident dose of guitar driven indie rock to event on the Saturday. With catchy songs, energetic guitars and a relaxed stage presence, the band delivered a set that showed Cruz stepping firmly into his own musical identity. The performance earned a warm response from the festival crowd, and his later surprise appearance with The Kooks made the day even more memorable.
GIRLBAND!
GIRLBAND! brought a lively burst of indie energy to Stage 2 at Rock N Roll Circus, ramping up the festival atmosphere with their Thursday evening set. Their infectious sound, energetic performance and confident perspective quickly grabbed the attention of the growing crowd. With catchy hooks and plenty of attitude, the band delivered a fun and engaging set that showed exactly why GIRLBAND! are becoming a name worth keeping an eye on within the UK indie scene.
Rock N Roll Circus once again proved that it is far more than just another music festival. Across the weekend, Earlham Park was transformed into a colourful world where live music, circus entertainment and a brilliant sense of community came together. From the moment you walked through the gates, there was a real feeling that something different was happening.
The circus acts added an extra layer of excitement, with performers, acrobats and spectacular entertainment creating moments that felt completely separate from a traditional festival experience.
Musically, the weekend offered something for everyone, with established names sharing the stages with exciting new artists and local talent. Whether you were there for indie, rock, punk or something a little different, there was always another performance waiting to be discovered.
The atmosphere was arguably the biggest success of the weekend. Crowds danced, sang, laughed and soaked up the sunshine, while the colourful surroundings and circus performers helped create an unmistakable sense of fun. There was an easy going, welcoming feeling throughout Earlham Park, making it feel less like simply attending a series of gigs and more like stepping into another world for the weekend.
Rock N Roll Circus left its mark as a celebration of music, entertainment and everything that makes live events so special.
