A night at The Underworld never really needs dressing up. It’s small, dark and gets packed quickly. Once it fills out, there’s not much space to move and the heat builds fast. It suits heavier shows. You’re close to the stage no matter where you stand, and when the room fills up, it gets hot fast.
Awake Again

Finnish band Awake Again opened the night and settled in quickly. Their sound leans into modern alternative metal, with clean vocals sitting over heavier sections, giving them a good balance without losing impact.

They kept things simple and focused. No long gaps, just straight into each song. Early on, someone in the crowd threw a pair of bunny ears on stage, which the band ended up wearing for part of the set. It broke the ice a bit and got a few laughs, but it didn’t take away from the performance. If anything, it made them feel more relaxed.

By the end of their set, the front of the room had filled out and people were properly engaged. A few small pits started to open and the energy picked up at the right time.

Lost Society
By the time Lost Society came on, the room was full and ready. Formed in Finland in the early 2010s, they started out as a thrash band but have shifted into a heavier, more modern sound over time. Live, it comes across clearly. There’s still speed in the riffs, but everything feels bigger and more direct.

They came out fast and didn’t really let the pace drop. In a room like this, it hits differently. There’s no distance between band and crowd, and you can feel everything a bit more. The riffs felt tight, the drums cut through clearly, and the vocals carried without getting lost in the noise.

They kept the pace up. No drawn-out build, just a steady run of songs that kept the crowd moving. In a venue like this, it doesn’t take much for things to kick off. The first proper pit opened early and didn’t really close again.

The band looked comfortable throughout. No over the top moments, just playing tightly and keeping things moving. Between songs, they kept the interaction short and genuine, which suited the room.

By the end, the whole place felt fully involved. Loud, sweaty and a bit worn out. Lost Society didn’t try to turn it into anything bigger than it was. They played a solid set in a packed room and let the night speak for itself.
