With a cold breeze in the air and twinkling lights, it set the scene as LostAlone returned to London for a festive LP launch party at Oslo, Hackney, on 11th December. Part celebration, part catharsis, the night captured everything that has made the band such a vital presence in British alternative music: raw emotion, communal release, and an unshakable bond with their audience.

With a room packed wall to wall and spirits already high, the band transformed Oslo into a glowing winter refuge, unveiling their new LP and reaffirming why their live shows feel less like gigs and more like shared moments of survival and joy.

As we have spoke about before in a previous article, the new LP, “Memories Under A Microscope”, a two vinyl collection, has been released. A mixture of old and new material that is a throwback treat for fans.

The live show at Oslo, was first set up as a festive show that the band does annually for their fans to celebrate Christmas and the fandom. It then turned into a LP release party for this new final set. A double reason for celebration.

With support from Bex (who has been working on her own music with Steven Battelle in the studio) and favourites Fearless Vampire Killers, it was set to be a good night.

Both support acts really did amp up the crowd with their loud sounds and high energy. Perfect starters for the main event.

As LostAlone appeared on the stage, blasting into the beginning chords of “Enduring The Dream”, the excitement in the room was amazing. Heading through the setlist, playing fan favourites such as “Crusaders”, “Hostages” and “The Bells! The Bells!”, the band treated the crowd with their new release, “Compilation of Complications”. Hearing the new song, it was met with a buzz of new material on the LP that has yet to be heard.

At one point in the night, Steven Battelle stepped off the stage with his guitar and nestled in the middle of the crowd, with everyone sitting on the floor circling him, and he played an acoustic version of “Lost and Found Balance”. The song was extended due to Steven talking between verses and the choruses, telling stories, joking and having the crowd smiling and laughing. It was a beautiful thing to witness, feeling the warmth and love from the fandom.

Back on stage, the band began with their high energy songs, “I’m The Fire That You Can’t Put Out”, “Love Will Eat You Alive” and the loud sound of “Punchlines Punched Back”, which had a small mosh pit opening up in the middle of the floor and fans bouncing around with smiles on their faces.

The perfect end to the night was when LostAlone played their amazing release from 2022, “The Lost Drop Of Forever”, making the whole room sing loud, joining in with the final crescendo of the night.

The band came off stage and within an hour, it was time for the fans to stream the new LP, holding a little album listening party at the Oslo to celebrate.

All in all, the night was full of high energy, a sense of family amongst the fans and excitement for the new LP as well as the festive period. The band transformed the Hackney venue into a gathering of friends, old and new, in a joining of music, and this is what makes this band special.
