Emerging from Oslo’s vibrant underground music scene, Yesterdaze have quickly carved out a reputation as one of Norway’s most exciting new rock acts.

From Icelandic/Norwegian roots, the band brings together a powerful roster: Armann Ingthorsson (vocals), Lars Stray (bass), Torje Antonsen (drums), and Øyvind Lunde (guitar). Their chemistry is fueled by a bold vision: to champion a “punch-rock” sound that’s both nostalgic and fresh.

Yesterdaze’s influences are clear: they draw on the soaring stadium-rock energy of Queens of the Stone Age, Biffy Clyro, and Royal Blood, while channeling the raw immediacy and intensity of IDLES and The Hives. But they don’t simply mimic — they reinvent. Their songs blend melodic hooks, driving riffs, and a rhythm section that feels like a heartbeat, while Armann’s vocals—raw, evocative, and sometimes trembling with urgency—anchor their emotional core.
In November 2022, Yesterdaze released their debut EP, Act U All, on Indie Recordings. The EP was warmly received, praised for its immediacy and the way it captures the band’s frenetic live energy. Not long after, they hit the road in Norway, bringing their explosive stage presence to venues across the country.

As their live following grew, so did their ambition. Their 2024 debut album release “Sentences”, marked a turning point. Their drive for more intensified and the wanting of spreading their music grew.

Throughout their evolution, one thing remains constant: Yesterdaze’s mission to connect deeply with their audience. They aspire to make music that resonates emotionally, that shakes something loose in you, and that gives voice to your internal rebel.

Here at Broken Static, we got a sneaky peak of the new EP that’s coming soon, and it’s definitely one for the playlist. Four songs, each different in their way, but still with that recognisable Yesterdaze sound.
“Flowers in Antarctica” gives a heavy sound, with a breakdown in the middle that will blow your mind.
“Not Your Business” is a loud, brash song with a catchy riff and showcases Armann’s husk in his voice. Definitely one of our favourites.
“Wait/NOW” starts as a gradual build so when that chorus hits, it hits right. The drums of Jorje are so prominent in this track, it gives goosebumps.
“Analyzing Animals” is a soft and slow end to the EP. It’s relaxing with the vocals and guitars merging together for when the chorus appears, it grabs your chest and immerses you in the music.

With this EP, releasing on the 21st November, Yesterdaze are poised to expand their impact. Their brand of punch-rock—simultaneously forceful and melodic—suggests they’re not just part of Norway’s rock resurgence; they might be leading it and will be spreading that sound to the rest of the globe soon.
