Setting the scene, it’s a dark and breezy night. The Waterfront venue in Norwich looks dark, shutters closed, with only the sign illuminating from between the trees. Within the space of 30 minutes, there is a queue winding from the doors up through the trees, people dressed in costumes, fake blood and band t shirts, the atmosphere buzzing amongst them.

This is because Fearless Vampire Killers are back in the city. Headlining their very own Halloween party for a hometown show to remember. Fans have travelled from throughout the UK, booking hotels, just to catch this one off show and the excitement was palpable.

The venue doors opened up and the fans flooded in to grab their places at the front of the stage, awaiting for the start.

Opening the show, Stephen Lockhart stepped on the stage and captivated the audience with just him and his acoustic guitar. His soulful voice and the plucking of the strings helped get the crowd in the mood.

Next, Balaclava stepped on the stage and the excitement amped up once more. The punk sound of the band echoed around the venue, getting people dancing and smiling with their quirky lyrics and fast paced beats.

The guys from Fearless Vampire Killers handpicked these two support acts to open the show as Stephen and Balaclava have been massive fans from when the guys first started out, so they were first choice to get the crowd going, keeping with the FVK family theme for the night.

With the support acts finished, it was time for the main event. The Fearless Vampire Killers head up on stage, shushing the crowd, then bursting into the first track “Feel Alive”, making the crowd erupt into screams and cheers.

Rocking out in their hotel concierge uniforms, joining in with the Halloween theme, rather than their usual get up of the blue shirts and black vests, they had the crowd eating out of the palm of their hands.

Playing songs off their infamous three albums, “Militia of the Lost”, “Unbreakable Hearts” and “Bruises”, the hardcore fans were jumping with their arms in the air, singing along to their favourites.

The band even showcased their newest track “Mirage” which was electric to hear live as it was only released on the 17th October.

Kier Kemp and Lawrence Beveridge sharing jobs between lead vocals and guitar was amazing to experience. The talent and connection between all the guys, still there after all these years.

Hearing classics such as “Bow Ties on Dead Guys”, “Back From The Void” and the epic “All Hallows Evil”, it was a throwback to the past is magnificent fashion.

Fearless Vampire Killers have always stood out—unafraid to be theatrical, unashamed to be heartfelt, and unapologetically themselves. This show wasn’t just a reunion, it was reminder of why their music mattered in the first place. For the fans who never stopped believing, and for the newcomers discovering them for the first time, one thing’s certain, the world still needs a little of their fearless magic.

As they rise again, louder and more defiant than ever, it’s clear this isn’t nostalgia—it’s evolution
