Sleemo, Formed in 2019, have quickly carved out a place in the local and underground scene with their explosive, sold-out live shows, crushing riffs, and a sound that fuses noise, sludge and alternative metal—drawing comparisons to acts like Cave In, Reuben, and Palm Reader.

The band consists of Billy Utting on guitar and vocals, Jack Andrews on bass and vocals, and Jacob Brooks on drums. Based in Norwich, Norfolk, UK, and carving a chaotic hole in the post hardcore scene of East Anglia, Sleemo are really showing music fans that they plan on staying

Their debut album Call to the Void, released in November 2023, marked their arrival in full force. Since then, they’ve been shaking up the UK heavy music. Sleemo continues to evolve—sharpening their sound, refining their vision, and plotting the next phase of their ascent including their new single “Bleeding” which was released on Friday 10th October 2025.

We were lucky to join Sleemo when they played Voodoo Daddy’s Showroom in Norwich for the Drongo Records All Dayer festival on the 11th October 2025. A selection of bands, mostly local to the East Anglian region, joined inside the venue to put in a 7 hour show, full of loud music, powerful lyrics and catchy riffs.
The line up consisted of bands, such as Lease On Life, Oi Niah, Rad Pitt, Flat Venus, Cabiria and Takeda.

Sleemo took the 9:15pm slot, and the crowd were already amped up due to the talent they had already watched throughout the day.
As the guys hit the stage and started the opening chords to “Better Bodies”, adrenaline was running high, especially when Jacob on the drums, started his beat. Goosebumps ran up my arms, knowing I was about to witness something special.

“Head Full of Lead” was performed next and the crowd were loving the hard beats that were filling the downstairs basement room of this venue. Thundering drums from Jacob, soaring vocals from Billy, and the pulse of the bass on Jack’s guitar, shaking the floor.

Performing songs from their 2023 album “Call To The Void”, plus a couple I’ve never heard before, shows that these guys have things lined up for the future.

Speaking to Jack before the show, he says “We have some time this year to get back in the studio so hopefully more shows will be planned for next year”.

Ending their set with their new single “Bleeding”, which was only released the day before, had the crowd moshing and dancing along to the new music. Energy surging through the room, creating an unforgettable connection between the band and their fans.

It was only a short set but it’s was powerful and packed full with talent, letting the audience know that Sleemo are back, in full force. Definitely these guys are a band to keep on the playlists and keep an eye out for some live shows.

The guys have shows coming up in the next week, playing in Bristol, at The Lanes. Also at The Black Heart in London as well as a few others.

They will be performing with Ogive’s Big Bands and Pohl.
Tickets are available via this link to their website if you want to experience the magic that is Sleemo.
