If you haven’t heard of Lakeview yet, you’re missing out on something pretty special. Jesse Denaro, from just outside New York City, and Luke Healy, hailing from Pittsburgh, came from totally different worlds, metal bands and blue-collar day jobs, but somehow found their way together to create something honest and real. Now, based in Nashville, these two aren’t your polished, radio-perfect country duo. They’re the kind of guys who’ve spent their fair share of time bartending and building pools, pouring all that life experience into songs that feel genuine and raw.

Their music blends country, rock, and a little bit of grit, with tracks like “Hits different” and “Money where your mouth is” showing off their knack for storytelling that hits you right in the feels. It’s not about fitting neatly into a genre box, it’s about making music that means something. It’s clear they’re doing just that. Lakeview’s sound is loud, heartfelt, and totally their own, and it’s easy to see why more and more people are starting to take notice.

There’s something special about The Dome in Tufnell Park. It’s the kind of venue that doesn’t need to try too hard, it just has that natural charm that makes you feel like you’re in the right place the second you walk through the doors. It’s not flashy or overly polished, but that’s exactly why people love it. With its old wooden floors, high ceilings, and just the right amount of wear and tear, it’s got real character, the kind that holds onto every cheer, every chorus, every sweaty encore. Whether you’re crammed down at the front or leaning against the back wall with a pint in hand, gigs at The Dome always feel alive. It’s intimate without being tiny, loud without being chaotic, and welcoming in a way that bigger venues often just can’t match. It’s a proper London gig spot, no pretence, just great music and good energy.

So when Lakeview took the stage there on the 6th of August, the setting couldn’t have been more perfect. From the first note, it was clear that this wasn’t going to be just another night on tour. The energy in the room flipped instantly, like a switch had been flicked. Jesse Denaro and Luke Healy poured themselves into every moment, bouncing between massive, gritty choruses and stripped-back, emotionally raw verses that had the whole room locked in.

Tracks like “LOSER” and “Son of A”, sounding even bigger live than they do on record, while fan-favourite “Home Team” brought one of the loudest singalongs of the night, and not just from the front row.

Their set was a mix of old and new, but everything felt fresh and full of purpose. You could see it on people’s faces, they weren’t just listening, they were feeling it. There was a genuine connection between the band and the crowd, the kind that doesn’t happen unless everyone’s fully bought in.

One of the best things about Lakeview is how down-to-earth they are. Between songs, Jesse and Luke chatted to the audience like they were catching up with old friends, laughing, telling stories, and throwing out the occasional heartfelt thank you. It never felt rehearsed or forced. You got the sense that they really meant it when they said how much it meant to be playing their own headline show in London.

By the time the last song rolled around, The Dome was buzzing. People were singing, shouting, dancing, arms around each other, the kind of crowd that doesn’t hold back. And when the lights finally came up, no one moved straight away. Everyone just sort of stood there for a moment, smiling, chatting, soaking it all in.

Lakeview didn’t just put on a solid show. They created a night that felt honest, full of heart, and completely their own. And if this was your first time seeing them live, chances are it won’t be your last.
