Known for their intense and hard-hitting sound, the band blends elements of metalcore, deathcore, and djent, while weaving in melodic passages that strike a balance between aggression and atmosphere.

Their debut album, Hope and Hindrance (2012), received strong praise from critics and established the foundation of their signature style. This was followed by a series of well-received releases, including Severance (2013), Deliverance (2015), and The Disconnect (2019).

Over the years, Heart of a Coward has built a reputation through relentless touring, appearances at major festivals, and performances alongside leading names in metal. With a loyal fan base—especially within the UK scene—they continue to stand out as a driving force in modern heavy music.

The band recently played a couple of intimate shows, one at New Cross Inn in London, and one at The Waterfront in Norwich, which we were lucky to attend the Norwich show. It was loud, chaotic and energetic. Everything you would want your Saturday night to be.

Starting off with haunting beginning of “Drown in Ruin” and following up with the fast beats of “Passenger” and “Hollow”, the guys had the crowd eating out the palm of their hands.

Launching into “Mouth of Mayhem” kept the energy going before slowing it down with “Decay”, the room was singing along to every word.

Turning up the energy again, they go back in with “Monstro”, “Miscreation” and “This Place Only Bring Death”, which has lead singer Kaan opening pits on the venue floor and the crowd bowing down to his every need.

Ending the set with a run of fast beats, “Collapse”, “Shade” and the finale “Deadweight”, left the audience full of adrenaline, emotion, covered in sweat and screaming back at the band, “I Don’t Give A F**k”. What a way to end the night!.

This show was loud, fast and full of chest banging drum beats. The vocals of Kaan never faltered and the band kept up the high paced energy throughout the night. These guys are something else.

Heart of a Coward have a few more shows planned this year, supporting Annisokay on part of their EU. They will be back in January to carry on that support with a selection of UK shows which are definitely not to be missed.
