Since their explosive demo debut in 2020, The Meffs have quickly earned a reputation as key players in the UK’s high-energy punk rock scene, becoming an unmissable live act. With a sound that blends hard-hitting riffs and raw intensity, the band delivers powerful messages about equality and societal issues, all while leaving their hooks stuck in your head for days.

In 2022, The Meffs released their debut EPs, Broken Britain Parts 1 and 2, produced by Frank Turner and released under Bottles to the Ground—the label founded by Fat Mike of NOFX and Fat Wreck Chords. The EPs made waves among both new listeners and long-time fans, propelling the band on their first headline tour across England, Scotland, and Wales.

The summer of 2023 marked a major milestone as The Meffs joined NOFX for three of the legendary band’s final shows, performing in front of their largest crowds yet. But it didn’t stop there—at Download 2023, The Meffs stole the spotlight during the festival’s 20th anniversary, with fans chanting “Up The Meffs, Up The Meffs” as they sang, crowd-surfed, and created chaos. Critics quickly named them one of the festival’s standout acts. They soon returned to Rebellion Festival, where rumors swirled that their main-stage opening set attracted the biggest crowd the festival had ever seen.

Following a summer packed with highlights, the band went on a UK-wide headline tour in November 2023, playing 21 sold-out shows. This was followed by a European tour, which included 10 sold-out headliner dates alongside 10 support shows. The band’s rapid rise is nothing short of staggering. The release of the hugely awaited album “What A Life” in September 2024 was a major turning point, putting The Meffs on the radar for bigger and better things.

Now, they are on another headline tour and we were lucky to attend opening night at The Waterfront Studio in Norwich. It was a sell out crowd and what a night it was.

Opening up the night with “Look at You”, the crowd were alive with anticipation. Pits opening, heads banging, everyone was ready for the wild ride ahead.

Performing hits from “What A Life” as well as previous hits “Your English is Great”, “Life’s a Fight” and “Broke Britain, Broken Brains”, the duo performed a cover of The Prodigy’s “Breathe” as well as Joan Jett and The Blackhearts “Bad Reputation”.

The night ended hot, sticky and rowdy. What more could you want from a punk show?. Leaving the Norwich crowd with massive smiles on their faces and their hearts full.

So, what’s next for The Meffs? Non-stop touring with dates in December with Million Dead and Frank Turner, maybe more new music, who knows?.
