Since forming in 2016 in Atlanta, The Callous Daoboys have carved out a distinctive niche in modern heavy music—melding metalcore, nu metal, and post-hardcore into an unhinged yet calculated chaos. Their tongue-in-cheek name, a play of the “Dallas Cowboys,” reflects the band’s playful wildness.

In between albums, they released an EP—God Smiles Upon the Callous Daoboys—in 2023 . Their latest milestone arrived on May 16, 2025, with their third full-length, I Don’t Want to See You in Heaven. Preceded by singles like “Two-Headed Trout” and “The Demon of Unreality Limping Like a Dog” in February, the album expands their sound palette, injecting pop-inflected hooks alongside trademark raucous breakdowns. It’s been praised by it’s ambitious, emotionally charged production.
