From the quiet corners of New Jersey to the loud stages of Nashville, Reece Young is proof that raw emotion, self-belief, and a deep love for the scene can still go a long way. Now officially signed to UNFD, Reece is stepping out of the underground and into the spotlight, armed with vulnerability, massive choruses, and a sound he describes as “metalcore that’s not scary.”

Raised in New Jersey, Reece built his identity around the underdog spirit of his home state. “New Jersey means everything to me,” he says. “It constantly gets a bad reputation for no good reason. It truly is quite beautiful you just have to go see it yourself.” That same perspective shows up in his music: honest, gritty, and full of unexpected beauty. Reece’s songs are battle cries for anyone who’s been overlooked or written off, music for those still fighting to find their place.

What sets Reece apart isn’t just his sound, though it’s a unique blend of emotionally charged metalcore, melody-forward hooks, and alt-pop finesse. It’s his presence. There’s a sense of conviction in everything he does, whether he’s baring his soul in a verse or joking with fans between songs. His influences are varied Twenty One Pilots, Bring Me the Horizon and Jon Bellion among them, but Reece isn’t trying to replicate his heroes. He’s building his own thing, grounded in emotional honesty and musical inclusivity.

With longtime collaborators Jacob Krulikowski (guitar) and Josh Yates (drums) forming the core of his band, Reece has cultivated a tight, high-energy live show that translates his recorded vulnerability into something truly visceral onstage.
That energy was on full display at Bludfest 2025, where Reece had the task and honor of opening the entire festival. First band on stage, midday slot, modest crowd. But from the moment the band stepped out, there was no sense of “easing in.” Reece performed like he had something to prove, and maybe he did. Every song hit like it belonged in a headline set. His voice cut through the festival haze with a balance of grit and melody, while the band’s dynamics were razor-sharp without ever feeling mechanical.

One moment that really showed the spirit of his set? Before launching into the final song, Reece paused the show, called out to the crowd, and invited a fan to race his guitarist across the stage for a shot at a free T-shirt. It was chaotic, hilarious, and instantly made the performance feel less like a festival slot and more like a community moment. It reminded everyone there that yes, this is music about pain and growth, but it’s also about joy, connection, and being part of something bigger.

Though the crowd was still trickling in, everyone watching could tell Reece Young was making the most of every second. That set didn’t just warm up the day. It left a mark and set a standard. Many eagerly followed the sound of Reece’s cover of Mantra and quickly filled up the pit.

Now, based in Nashville, Reece continues to evolve, musically and personally. His move from DIY releases to signing with UNFD marks a major shift, but it hasn’t dulled his edge. If anything, it’s sharpened his focus. He’s teased a “bunch of new tunes on the way,” and from the sound of things, he’s just getting started.

Reece Young doesn’t scream to be heard. He doesn’t posture or pretend. What he brings is something much harder to fake: sincerity, passion, and a clear sense of purpose. In a scene that often swings between hyper-polished and painfully cynical, Reece is cutting through the noise with something rare, music that actually means something.

So if you haven’t heard his name yet, you will. And if you’re already paying attention, get ready. This next chapter looks big.

Reece Young is one to watch, not because he’s chasing trends, but because he’s chasing truth.
