On the evening of the 7th of July 2025, we were invited to watch Helsinki – based rock band Cyan Kicks as they made their way around the UK on their first headline tour.
Cyan Kicks, formed in 2016, are a quartet fronted by Susanna Alexandra, joined by Niila Perkkiö, Leevi Erkkilä, and Pietari Reijonen. Their genre-blending sound fuses alternative, electronic and pop rock. They have a vibrant fusion of heavy riffs, electronic textures and soaring pop melodies—think modern rock meets chart-ready synth. Their tunes shift from dance‑floor beats (“Alone” and “See The Light”) to hard‑edged anthems (“Hurricane” and “Gasoline”), all tied together by Susanna Alexandra’s dynamic vocals. Live, they bring emotional power and audience connection, embodying an empowering sound that’s uniquely theirs.

Norwich’s Waterfront venue was the place to be on a warm summer’s night, by the river and listening to loud music.
The bands, Norwich based, Read The Room and Hertfordshire’s High Regard, opened the show with an amazing start.

As soon as Cyan Kicks hit the stage, just after 9pm, they had the crowd captivated. The dark red lights cast over the band and the electronic sound filled the room, creating a buzz of excitement for fans.
Pietari beating the drums, giving the bass it’s heart while Niila and Leevi backed up with their guitars. Susanna taking centre stage with her powerful voice and feminine allure, had the audience eating out the palm of her hand.

Playing songs such as “Echo”, “Middle of a Breakdown” and covering Heart’s “Alone”, the crowd were enjoying every minute of the show.
Between songs, Susanna talked with the room, telling jokes and sharing stories. The rest of the band joining in with the fun.

During the show, the energy was at one hundred. Leevi with his high kicks, and at one point, he managed to pull off a forward flip on the small stage. That was impressive.
Susanna was there, head banging, hair flipping, looking as beautiful as ever, dancing with the rest of the band.

The rest of the performance carried on with songs “Tidal Wave”, “Gasoline” and their newest release “Flowers” which brought a calming feeling amongst the crowd in the room.

Ending the show with fan favourites “Dancing with Demons” and “Hurricane”, it was a non-stop whirlwind of energy and passion. It was a powerful reminder: this is no ordinary band, but a rising force rewriting the rules of modern rock.
